Eight-toe baby born in Guangdong

A baby boy with eight toes on each foot was discharged from a hospital in Leizhou, southeast Guangdong province on November 5, 2008. The baby has five fingers on each hand but doesn't have thumbs. Doctor said this might have something to do with genetics or environment pollution. More →

That's the finding from researchers in Denmark, who have determined that every person with blue eyes descended somehow from one person whose genes mutated about 10,000 years ago. Before then everyone had brown eyes. The mutation blocked the pigment responsible for making brown eyes resulting in a blue iris. More →
