Just some food for thought:
It is said that the english that Americans speak is actually closer to the english spoke at the time of the Revolution than what Britsh folks speak. How the wonderful historians know this? I forget, and it seems a little weird considering both the U.S. and U.K. have several different dialects. I love conversations that have nothing to do with the topic, they are always the best.
